QEII Club History

The QEII Track Club Inc. was formed in the 2002-2003 season through an amalgamation of two former Clubs - Southern Suburbs Athletics Club Inc. and the Mt Gravatt Athletics Club Inc.

We have adopted the QEII 'tag' as the majority of our athletes and coaches use the training facility as our 'home' base at the Qld Sport and Athletics Centre, Kessels Road, Nathan, Brisbane. Our title is also the synonymous venue with Track and Field in Queensland.

To be the premier athletics club in Queensland.
To promote membership to the club and nurture club members.
To ensure athletes, coaches, officials and parents all work together.
To maintain a stable and robust club that is financially sustainable.
To be a club where members of all abilities are encouraged to participate and celebrate athletics in a rewarding environment.

Club Member Protection Policy
The QEII Track Club as an affiliate of Queensland Athletics strongly believes that providing a safe and enjoyable sporting and working environment is an important consideration for any sports organisation seeking to support its athletes, coaches, volunteers, officials and staff in their respective endeavours.

The QEII Track Club has adopted the Athletics Australia Member Protection Policy (Click on this link to download a copy) as this operates as an adjunct to the Queensland Athletics By-Laws so that all who participate in athletics may do so with the knowledge of the sport’s commitment to ensuring an appropriate and conducive environment is provided and that appropriate protections are available if required.

The QEII Track Club and Queensland Athletics encourage all involved in athletics to familiarise themselves with and work to this policy. Adoption of this policy and principles will ensure all participants enjoy their involvement in their chosen sport.
